A 64-year-old Punjabi man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife in Brampton, a suburb of Toronto. Jarnail Randhawa (64 years old) was arrested for the murder of his wife Dalbir Randhawa, also 64. He will be charged with second-degree murder, police said. The murder happened on Wednesday and it was revealed after police received a call to an unconscious woman lying on a trail in the city. Upon arrival at the scene, police found the woman – later identified as Dalbir Randhawa – showing signs of trauma. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate her, but she was unable to cope with her injuries on the spot. After investigation, the police found her husband Jarnail Randhawa as the main suspect and arrested him. Brampton is home to the largest concentration of Punjabi communities in Canada. In fact, Indo-Canadians make up about a quarter of the city’s roughly 700,000 residents.
